So, what
has Lorraine been up to? Well, I'm not quite sure where to begin.
I have been a very busy girl lately.
I have
started taking on clients for Personal Training as I am venturing
into various avenues attempting to raise awareness in my local
community about the benefits of a sensible nutritional plan along
with regular exercise.
I have
continued to train and diet for my competitions. In fact, in April
I competed at Jr. USA's and placed 3rd in Figure and 6th in Fitness.
My hamstring injury from New York, did hinder my performance during
my fitness routine, however, I did the best I could under the
circumstances. Although, my placing in the Fitness division was
nothing to write home about, I was truly ecstatic about my placing
in the Figure division. I was overcome by tears of happiness when
I was told I had placed in the top five. I felt the competition
was very tough because all the girls were in incredible shape.

I also competed in the Pinnacle Pittsburgh
Fitness & Figure Championships. I placed 1st in Fitness and
2nd in Figure. Words cannot even describe the emotions that overcame
me when I was announced 1st in Fitness. I immediately welled up
with tears in total shock. You work hard for something and all
along "hope" your hard work will one day pay off. Well,
when that day comes, there are no words to adequately describe
it. Needless to say it was an very exciting weekend.
I'd like to give a shout out to my roommates,
Lori, Rebecca and Makeba. This was the first competition where
I was traveling alone and I was extremely nervous and apprehensive.
Thanks to these great ladies as well my other fellow team members,
I had a blast in Pittsburgh. I don't even want to discuss how
much food was consumed Saturday evening. It was shameful...LOL!
I would also like to thank a very special
friend, Anita, who made an extra special effort to come out to
support me and cheer real loud for me. It was very much appreciated.
Hope to see you in Chicago and/or Virginia.
Okay, so what's next? After a one week
reprieve from dieting and training, I am currently preparing for
Jr. Nationals,
which will be held in Chicago.
P.S. Be sure and check out the great article
